About Secrets
Understanding SSH keys and secure credential management
What are SSH Keys?
SSH keys are a pair of cryptographic keys used to authenticate and establish secure connections to your virtual machines. They're more secure than passwords and essential for server access.
Public Key
Stored on your VM - safe to share
Private Key
Kept secret on your computer - never share
Important: Your private key never leaves your computer. We only store the public key to authenticate your connections.
How to Use
- Generate an SSH key pair on your computer
- Add the public key here as a new secret
- Select this key when deploying a VM
- Use your private key to SSH into the VM
